Recently, Good Logistics attended a Speed Networking Event at Felixstowe Academy. The event gave us an opportunity to attract future talent to the Logistics Sector.
Considering Felixstowe port employs over 3,500 people, this is a fantastic career option, particularly for those located at Felixstowe school! The event enabled us to talk groups of students about careers in logistics, day to day duties, the different roles and of course, answer any questions. It gave us a perfect platform to introduce the industry to students who hadn’t previously considered a career in logistics.
Our employees, Rachel Davies, Head of Port and Liner Agency, and Baras Mast-Ingle, Logistics Operator, represented Good Logistics for this event.
Baras Mast-Ingle had this to say about the day, “We saw an interest from pupils, who enjoyed the speed networking with us, and asked various questions. Engaging with schools should have a positive impact in promoting Good Logistics as an exciting and varied scope of employment.”
Likewise, Rachel found the Speed Networking very worthwhile stating, “The students, especially Year 9, were engaging and asked many questions. As I have been in the industry for more than 30 years they were very interested in some of the stories I had to tell, from boarding vessels to seized cargo. I hope this will entice the younger generation to take a career path into the Logistics sector.”
Felixstowe School thanked us stating it was an “amazing experience for our Year 9 and 12 students”.
