The main challenge facing Vestey Foods UK before they worked with Denholm Good Logistics EU team was the lack of visibility of their container movements, unfortunately, this resulted in some customers losing confidence in Vestey’s ability to provide accurate shipping information to them. Vestey Foods UK also wanted to try and reduce ever-increasing costs and to improve their efficiency so they could provide a better overall service to their customers.

“Though we have had a long transactional relationship with Denholm Good Logistics, we had not worked closely with their specialist EU team. Working with the Denholm Good Logistics EU team, meant we could look more strategically at our supply chain process and how we could adapt it to add value not only to our business but to our customers too. Due to us already having a relationship with Denholm Good Logistics, the EU team had a good insight into the current Vestey supply chain process and as part of their EU audit the team reviewed our current modes of transport used when moving goods around the globe.
Following the audit, Denholm Good Logistics suggested that several of our shipments would not be impacted by longer transit times, which meant we could switch our main mode of transport to sea rather than road. Through Denholm Good Logistics digital solutions, we are now able to track all our shipments in real-time.
These solutions have enabled us as a business to not only reduce our costs but to manage them more effectively too. We can now plan ahead more with our customers in the UK and our customer’s confidence in our abilities is returning.”
