Logistics provider, John Good, is celebrating the success of its latest apprentices who have completed their apprenticeship programme and taken up full-time roles. The latest group of apprentices began their level two apprenticeships in 2017 training in warehousing and storage, business and administration and customer service.

Charles Owens, Charlie Boggis, James Horton, Jordan Rowe, Andrea McDaid and Sarah Nisbet each completed an 18-month apprenticeship in partnership with WS Training and Damar Training. Their training saw them rotate across multiple departments to develop a solid knowledge of the different parts of John Good, with the support of colleagues who helped with their work and learning, sharing in-depth knowledge of the logistics sector. Upon completion of their apprenticeships, all six apprentices have been offered permanent positions at John Good in their chosen business area.

Emma Chapman, Group HR Manager at John Good, commented, “We are delighted to congratulate our apprentices on successfully completing the programme and being offered a permanent role within John Good. Apprenticeships bring a fresh new dynamic to our business while ensuring John Good is well placed in terms of succession planning. I firmly believe our apprentices of today are our leaders of tomorrow.”

Each apprentice will continue their professional development at John Good, which will support them with pursuing further qualifications in the coming months. As well as new starters to the business, existing staff are encouraged to further their education by taking part in additional training. January 2019 saw employees based in Plymouth and Manchester begin the International Freight Forwarding Specialist Level 3 Standard in partnership with The Real Apprenticeship Company which covers International Freight Movement, Customs Procedures, Business Finance and Freight Costing and Customer Service specialising in Air Freight, Ocean Freight or Road Freight.

John Good has a longstanding commitment to providing meaningful apprenticeships with opportunities upon completion, with many previous apprentices moving into roles throughout the UK in freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution.
