As part of the John Good Group’s long-term strategy to develop its activities in key ports throughout the UK, we are delighted to announce that DAN Shipping & Chartering Limited has acquired 75% of the shares in Bay Shipping Limited based in Cardiff.

Bay Shipping was established in 1992 and has earned itself an enviable reputation as a specialist shipping agent and dry cargo broker with over 100 years’ combined experience in the industry.
From its head office in Cardiff, Bay Shipping covers all of the South Wales and South West ports including Avonmouth, Barry, Cardiff, Newport, Pembroke, Portbury, Swansea and Sharpness. In addition, the company has over 35 years’ experience in chartering, specialising in the dry cargo market, and has built first-class relationships with a range of prominent ship owners and charterers around the world.
The business will continue to be run by Mark Mullins, Managing Director, who also retains a 25% shareholding in Bay Shipping. The business aligns very closely with DAN Shipping and provides a strong foothold in South Wales and the South West to develop existing port agency activities whilst opening up opportunities to further grow the chartering side of the business through an extended network of contacts with ship owners world-wide.
This is a significant, positive development for DAN Shipping and also the wider John Good Group as it seeks to become a truly national business.
