Following another successful year for its national apprenticeship programme, a further seven apprentices have joined the John Good Group to begin careers in the shipping & logistics industry.

The John Good Group Apprenticeship programme is UK-wide, and the latest apprentices have joined the business in Hull, Manchester, Felixstowe and London.

Alan Platt, Chief Executive Officer of the John Good Group, commented; “I’m personally involved in youth work and education in the Hull region and am always very keen to attract good, young talent into our business to build a workforce for the future. It is fantastic to see young people flourish and develop a career.”

Seamus Jennings, Managing Director of John Good Logistics, added; “Almost all of the apprentices who have started with the business over the past four years are still working for the Group and contributing positively to the growth of our business. Our apprentices experience all aspects of the business and the roles within it to give them a detailed insight into the world of shipping and logistics, allowing them to start a rewarding career.”

The John Good Group Apprenticeship Programme began in 2014 and has gone from strength to strength. The business is passionate about the opportunities a career in shipping and logistics can bring while developing essential skills and lifelong careers. Everyone at the John Good Group wishes the latest recruits the best of luck with their new careers and welcomes them to the team.

The John Good Group is one of the UK’s longest established family businesses and one of the London Stock Exchange’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ 2015.
