One of John Good Logistics’s liner agency principals, MACS – Maritime Carrier Shipping of Hamburg, has announced the arrival of four new additions to its multi-purpose fleet, namely m/s “Blue Master II”, “Golden Karoo”, “Bright Sky” and “Green Mountain”.
The new ships have entered MACS’ Europe to Southern Africa service, offering regular sailings every 12 days from Immingham (all cargoes) and Tilbury (containers) to Walvis Bay, Cape Town, Durban and Richard’ s Bay. MACS also serves a range of other African destinations including Port Elizabeth and by transhipment, Maputo, Luanda, Soyo, Malongo, Zambia, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland; additionally, breakbulk cargo is carried to Beira, Pemba and Nacala in Mocambique. C&D services are offered for FCLs in the UK and South Africa.
These new multi-purpose vessels, with modern environmentally-friendly engines, have 37000 tonnes dwt for cargo, a 240 tonne heavy lift capacity and are around 10% larger than the other members of the fleet. They are able to carry a wide range of freight – containers, breakbulk, vehicles and project cargo – for which MACS has established a sound reputation with many shippers over the past forty years.
MACS offers a personal service with fast turnaround of quotations, competitive rates, a high degree of flexibility and uncongested terminals in South Africa to ensure quick release of cargo.
