Trans European Port Services (TEPS) has expanded its UK haulage operations with the opening of a container transport division at the Port of Felixstowe, the UK’s largest container port, on 01 August 2016.

This expansion significantly increases TEPS’ existing haulage activities together with its footprint in the South of England and complements its well established warehousing operations, consisting of over 500,000 sq ft of racked and bulk warehousing at sites in Hull, Felixstowe and Ipswich.

TEPS was established in 1959 and originally consisted of one small warehouse and a single vehicle. It was also one of the first companies to operate unit loads, operating from a base in Hull as a clearing warehouse for a co-operative of Yorkshire-based hauliers transporting goods through Hull docks to Europe. The company has continually developed its activities and has successfully grown the business over the years, both organically and through acquisition. In 2015 TEPS acquired Felixstowe Warehousing which operates from a 200,000 sq ft facility at the port, offering bespoke freight management solutions to a wide range of blue-chip clients.

The new container haulage division in Felixstowe will be run by an experienced and established management team, Dave Deverell and Nick Deverell, each with over 25 years’ experience in the container haulage industry.

Stuart Gosling, Managing Director, Felixstowe Warehousing commented: “We’re always striving to improve the range of services for our clients. The opening of our container transport division will enable TEPS to expand its business across the South East at one of the most important gateways to the UK. We very much looking forward to working more closely with our existing clients and establishing long-term relationships with other key stakeholders at the port.”
