Export Operations Clerk


The Role

Are you an excellent organiser and communicator, who loves handling a job from start to finish for a client? If so, you could be the person we are looking for to help keep our clients’ supply chains moving smoothly.

This role on our small but specialised London Heathrow team will involve working alongside colleagues familiar with multi-modal movements and pick and pack services, allowing you to impart your knowledge whilst also gaining news skills – building a brighter future for your career in a growing 3PL company. At our Heathrow office we work with our 8 forwarding offices around the UK, with shared responsibility for airfreight and courier operations, whilst each office handles sales.

Previous experience in export operations will be necessary, but what’s most important to us is to find someone who has strong organisational skills, great attention to detail and an ability to see each job through from start to finish for our clients.

The Day-to-Day

In this role you will need to enjoy being responsible for responding to a busy, shifting landscape in the air freight and courier industry, whilst also maintaining great relationships with clients. The main responsibilities include:

  • Organising/handling client shipments for global or domestic movements start to finish.
  • Liaising with suppliers and clients.
  • Preparing paperwork and handling pre-alerts/post-flights.
  • Invoicing, processing and passing of supplier invoices.
  • Providing experience to the wider group on airfreight matters.
  • Working with overseas agents / sales teams to develop the airfreight business.
  • Providing support to our warehouse team.
  • Providing support as and when deliveries are necessary as part of the team.
  • Undertaking all duties with reference to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) procedures and work instructions.

The Person

Essential skills needed for this role include:

  • 3-5 Years’ Experience
  • Airfreight Dangerous Goods training
  • Confident with good communication and computer skills

Preferred skills for this role include:

  • Experience of Cargowise One (CW1)
  • Airfreight import experience would be advantageous as we are looking for a good all-rounder
  • Courier knowledge also an advantage

Working hours: Full time 37.5hrs (Start and finish times negotiable)
